Milk-Bone products are widely available nationally at most grocery chains, Walmart®, Target®, PetSmart®, Petco®, and other outlets where dog treats can be found.
All Milk-Bone® dog biscuits and dog treats are produced at our facilities right here in the U.S. The majority of ingredients are sourced from the U.S. Like most pet companies, we source a limited amount of minor ingredients, such as important nutritional supplements or preservatives, from other countries due to limited availability in the U.S. We assure you that our strict U.S. quality and operations standards apply equally to all of our ingredients-regardless of the country of origin.
We're a company of pet lovers and there is nothing more important to us than the quality and safety of our products. Our processes and operations are uncompromising to ensure that our products are of the highest quality, purity, and safety. We employ an approach above and beyond regulatory requirements and always look for ways to improve. And these same standards apply across all our facilities. Our products are made with nutritious, quality ingredients that meet the applicable standards and specifications of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) and the Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

Feeding Instructions & Nutrition
As with any pet product labeled as a treat or snack, Milk-Bone® dog treats should not be substituted for a balanced diet. Treats should make up no more than 10% of your dog's caloric intake. We've placed feeding guidelines on each package and strongly advise against exceeding these guidelines. Your dog's veterinarian can also provide guidance on how many calories your dog should consume each day.
For puppies, we recommend our Milk-Bone® Puppy Biscuits, which are specially formulated for dogs one year and younger. As with any pet product labeled as a treat or snack, Milk-Bone® dog treats should not be substituted for a balanced diet, and treats should make up no more than 10% of your puppy or small dog's caloric intake. As you would with any new food or treat, keep a watchful eye on your dog as he or she is enjoying our treats. You may want to consider breaking or cutting the treats into smaller pieces if your dog has a tendency to swallow food without chewing.
Milk-Bone® Brushing Chews® are not recommended for puppies. Puppies have unique nutritional needs as they grow, and Brushing Chews are formulated for adult dogs.
The "Best if Used By" date will be listed on either the back or the bottom of the package.
Milk-Bone® Brushing Chews
VOHC is an international organization of board certified veterinary dental specialists, formed by the American Veterinary Dental College and endorsed by the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry and American Veterinary Dental Society. VOHC evaluates the effectiveness of veterinary oral care products similar to how the American Dental Association (ADA), measures the efficacy of human products. Products that carry the VOHC Seal of Acceptance have demonstrated via clinical testing that they successfully meet strict criteria for effectiveness in controlling plaque and/or tartar accumulation in dogs.
Will regular use of Milk-Bone® Brushing Chews® Daily Dental Treats replace the need for veterinary dental cleanings?
Brushing Chews® are designed to be used in addition to annual veterinary exams and periodic professional dental cleanings. Each product package features a recommendation for the dog to receive annual veterinary dental check-ups in addition to recommended daily use of the product.
When fed as directed, Milk-Bone® Brushing Chews® are safe to feed dogs daily. We're a company of pet lovers and there is nothing more important to us than the quality and safety of our products. Milk-Bone® Brushing Chews® underwent comprehensive quality and safety testing. This included extensive feeding trials, both in our own facilities and at third party facilities, and reviews by multiple leading external experts in the field of canine oral care. Digestibility was a key focal point of these trials.
Milk-Bone® dog biscuits are America's favorite and most trusted dog treat. They are crunchy biscuits. Milk-Bone® Brushing Chews® were scientifically designed and formulated to help maintain canine oral health. They have a unique formula, firmer texture, patent-pending twisted shape, unique toothpaste-like package, longer chew time, and have undergone clinical testing to earn the VOHC Seal of Acceptance for tartar control.
When fed daily, Milk-Bone® Brushing Chews® dental treats are clinically proven to be as effective as brushing a dog's teeth twice a week, based on the reduction of tartar buildup and bad breath. They've even received the VOHC Seal of Acceptance for tartar control. (The VOHC evaluates pet products much like the American Dental Association measures the efficacy of human oral care products.)
Average chew time of Milk-Bone® Brushing Chews® is two to four minutes.
To ensure dogs are getting the best results possible with Milk-Bone® Brushing Chews®, pet parents should feed one treat per day to their dogs. As with any pet product labeled as a treat or a snack, Brushing Chews should not be substituted for a balanced diet, and treats should make up no more than 10% of the dog's caloric intake. We strongly advise against exceeding these guidelines. We recommend to owners that their veterinarian can also provide guidance on how many calories their dog should consume daily. As with any edible product, ensure the treat is adequately chewed. Gulping any items can be harmful or cause serious injury to a dog.
We recommend always following the feeding instructions based on the size dog you own. We do not recommend feeding the Mini or Small/Medium size to a dog larger than 74 pounds, or a Small/Medium size to a dog under 25 pounds. However, we're working on a Large size.
Milk-Bone® Active Treat Dispensing Toys
Milk-Bone® Active treat dispensing toys are designed for dogs that are 6 months or older. Puppies can be unpredictable chewers. Their teeth are sharper than older dogs and they tend to be more aggressive chewers, for these reasons, we recommend giving Milk-Bone® Active to dogs who are 6 months of age or older.
As with any toy, choosing the right size and durability of toy for your dog is important for the safety of your dog as well as the wear and tear expected of the toy. Please follow the sizing chart below to select the best toy for your dog.
Use "Small" sized Milk-Bone® Active treat dispensing toys for dogs up to 24 lbs.
