3 Guides for DIY Christmas Dog Decorations

‘Twas the time of the holidays and all through the land, All the critters are hoping you’d meet their demands. Dogs are looking and sniffing for fun treats on their shelf. So, here are some ways to make some yourself! 

Rhyming aside, here are some tutorials to deck the halls with bowwows of happiness this holiday season. 

Milk-Bone® Dog Treat Wreath 

 

Get in the spirit of treating by decking your doors with treat-filled wreaths! Bring joy to your tail waggin’ guests with Milk-Bone® holiday dog treats waiting for them at your door. 

What you need: 

  • Milk-Bone® treats 
  • Wide ribbon for base, any color 
  • Thin ribbon, bright, festive color 
  • Large bow 
  • 12” cardboard or foam core cut in the size/shape of a wreath 
  • Scissors 
  • Twine 

How to make it: 

 

 

Step 1: 

Start by covering the wreath-shaped cardboard with one of the ribbons 

 

Step 2: 

Next, arrange the treats around the base. 

 

Step 3: 

Take the other ribbon and tightly wrap each bone, securing it to the wreath base. Continue around the wreath. Tie the two ends together to make sure your treats are secure. 

 

Step 4: 

Add the finishing touch with a large bow at the top of your wreath. 

Remember to remove all inedible pieces before giving to your dog! Now you’re ready to treat all the four-legged visitors this howliday season!

Stocking Snack Sack 

What you need: 

  • Milk-Bone® treats 
  • Felt fabric 
  • Glue gun 
  • Festive decorations 
  • Scissors 
  • Ribbon 
  • Felt-tip black marker 

How to make it: 

Step 1: 

Take a felt-tip black marker and draw a dog bone on the fabric. Make sure you draw two sets of dog bones. 

Step 2: 

Cut along the edges of your drawn-on dog bone so that both sides are of the same length. 

Step 3: 

Hot glue the edges of your dog bone together while making sure you leave an opening to place your treats in. 

Step 4: 

Cut a small piece of ribbon. This will be used as your loop to hang up your stocking. Glue the loop onto the side of the dog bone. 

Step 5: 

Wrap a ribbon around the center and glue a festive decoration to make it more holiday-themed. 

Step 6: 

Fill your stocking with dog treats. Hang your stocking up on the mantle (or a place of your choosing) and celebrate the furry family member in your life! 

Howliday Treat Keeper

What you need: 

How to make it: 

Step 1: 

Trace the pattern onto the foam sheet. 

Step 2: 

Using scissors, cut the image from the foam sheet and don’t forget to cut holes in the rectangular slots. Depending on the thickness of your foam sheet, you might have to adjust the openings. 

Step 3: 

To fold up the gift box, fold the sides with the trapezoidal slots up first and tuck the tabs into the rectangular slots in one of the other two sides. 

Step 4: 

After you've tucked your Milk-Bone®, Milo’s Kitchen® and Pup-Peroni® treats into the box, fold up the last side and tuck the remaining tabs into its rectangular slot. 

Step 5: 

Using a red-colored foam sheet, cut the shape of a small tongue into the sheet. Once done, glue the tongue, a button and googly eyes as seen in the picture.
